We took a trip to St. Joseph, Michigan, for my birthday. I had been there once before in 2019 and being there took me back to who I was at the time. Like I was remembering a past life or something. Maybe that's more accurate than I first realized. I'm a different person now. With different people in my life. A lot has happened since then. Learning. Growing. Loss. Healing. Self discovery.

Right now, especially near by birthday with everything still fresh in my mind, I'm so grateful for the people I have in my close circle. People who really go out of their way to let me know I'm special to them. Sometimes I don't feel like I'm noticed, and it means a lot to know that I am. I'm a simple person, really. Show me a little support and effort, communicate a bit, and I'll fill in the rest. That's all I need. I don't need to be important to everyone. Just the right ones.
