I came across a website for one of my favorite photographers, William Eggleston, while trying to figure out what books to buy. I love buying books of my favorite photographers, it feels like an honor to have a collection of their work, but as always, funds are short. This site had a huge, huge amount of his work including a lot of the photos found in his books. I still plan on owning the book, but I figured I can wait awhile and just digest what I found there. I did settle on Jeff Mermelstein's Sidewalk and Burk Uzzle's Just Add Water. Uzzle's work us a lot like Eggleston's. Lots of ordinariness, my favorite. I found another book by Chase Jarvis called The Best Camera Is The One That's With You, which looks like a very surprising piece for inspiration. I expect great things from these books. When I got Visions and Images with the interviews from Meyerowitz and Winogrand, my life was changed. Really. Changed.
