I got this gumball machine from my grandparents for my birthday. It takes pennies, and it might even take washers, but I've only used US currency so far. I don't really have a solid place for it yet, so it sits in front of my growing bookshelf, gumballess. Speaking of books, I'm really getting into various bookly collections of different photographers I like. I think looking at the photographs of a favorite photographer teaches you just as much as anything else. I just recently got Jeff Mermelstein's book No Title Here, and while it wasn't what I thought it was going to be, I think it's a fine treasure. I only really care about finding inspiration from books now. A few more that have been on my wishlist for awhile are Winogrand's Figments From The Real World, Stephen Shore's Uncommon Places and William Eggleston's Guide. After my camera gear and my computer, I'd save my book collection next in the event of a fire. That's after I've saved my wife, too, of course.
